oven stopped working

Erin H

The oven stopped working. It's a thermador model prg305ph/03. The convection fan stopped coming on and when the oven is heating up, it shuts off and Blu blinking lights on the selector switch flash a code saying fan not running, which I know already. I think it is the circuit board, or power supply,I hope. I unplugged it for 20 hours, plugged back in, and it did work for some time, even the fan came on. Eventually, stopped again. What's your guess, bad circuit board ?

Thank you for reaching out. Have you had a tech come take a look? The issues could be in a few places, the fan itself, wiring to the fan, the wiring harness, control board, the fan switch, thermal probe, and thermistor, or like you said the power supply.

I would start with a good cleaning of the fan, wiring, and other components. Inspect wiring and its coverings, you want to look for exposed or dirty wiring, this can be gently cleaned with water and vinegar. Ensure all connections are clean and fully seated well

Check\replace the thermal probe and sensors. All of these components can fail over time due to heat. Please send a few photos of the board. The board should have a few relays on it. This would give us a better idea of whether we can service it or not.

Thank you for getting back to us.  Unfortunately, we don't carry a stock of boards for sale, this may be an error on the site. Yes, the board could be the issue. however, the fan will remain on until the oven reached less than 325°F. The control is going to use the thermostat and sensor to operate the fan. The sensor can be tested and should measure 6KO at room temperature, and 35KO at 350°F. If the sensor tests properly, then the wire connections will need to be inspected for a loose connection or broken wire. If that checks out fine then the board will need to be serviced.  Below I have provided a link that can get you started, should you choose to send it in for repair. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

Just a question, as I said, after unplugging and plugging back in, it seemed to work ok. I would think the fan and wiring is ok. But the owner said before the problem started, when he would turn on connection bake, the fan would come on right away. Does that make u lean towards the circuit board more than other parts like the probe ? Also do u have the circuit board in stock, it says you have 3 ? If that's the case, if I buy one, do u send it out right away and then I mail u my old one ? The part number is 00709785. I wish I could talk directly to you, it would be so much easier. 585-315-8005.TY.
