Cadillac CUE Navigation Touchscreen Troubleshooting Guide
Important: Use this guide if you reinstalled your repaired Cadillac CUE Navigation Touchscreen and the problem is still happening.
Important: Please do not open/disassemble the module—use these vehicle-side checks only.
- Step 1: Confirm the exact symptom
- Touch is inaccurate/ghost touches/random presses
- Touch does not respond at all, but the display looks normal
- Screen is black/blank, stuck on logo, or reboots
- Image is present but flickers, lines, or goes white/washed out
- Works cold then fails warm (or only fails after driving)
- Step 2: Confirm the correct part was reinstalled
- Verify this is the CUE touchscreen/display assembly (not the HMI module or radio control module)
- Confirm connectors match and are fully seated/locked
- If the vehicle has had prior infotainment work, confirm it wasn’t retrofitted with a different screen variant
- Step 3: Perform a safe system reboot
- Cycle ignition fully off, open/close driver door, wait 2–3 minutes, then restart
- If the screen only returns after a full power cycle, suspect a wake/enable or module sleep/wake issue
- Step 4: Reseat connectors and inspect for pin/terminal issues
- Unplug/replug the screen connectors and ensure each lock tab fully clicks
- Inspect for bent pins, pushed-back terminals, corrosion, or moisture
- If pressing on the connector/harness changes the symptom, suspect poor terminal tension or harness strain
- Step 5: Check power supply stability and related fuses
- Verify battery/charging health (low voltage commonly causes reboots/blank screen/glitches)
- Check infotainment/HMI/CUE-related fuses (radio, display, infotainment, “info”/“HMI” circuits)
- If the failure happens during crank, retest with a strong battery or jump support
- Step 6: Separate “touch problem” vs “display problem”
- Touch-only issues (ghost touch/no touch but image OK): often digitizer/touch layer, connector seating, or screen grounding
- Display-only issues (black/lines/flicker): often screen power/backlight, video signal, or upstream infotainment module output
- Step 7: Scan for infotainment/network faults
- Scan for HMI/infotainment codes and network communication faults
- If multiple modules show “lost comm,” fix vehicle-side power/ground/network faults first—the screen may not be the root cause
- Step 8: If the issue began after recent work
- Re-check anything recently touched: battery disconnect, radio/HMI replacement, dash removal, aftermarket accessories
- Aftermarket splices (remote start, alarms, audio upgrades) near infotainment wiring are common causes of intermittent CUE issues
