My washer will not agitate or spin; it will fill and drain, but the drum will not move. Before this, I heard a commotion and smelt a burning odor. Any ideas?

Check to check whether the tub bearing is locked up by turning it by hand. Also, make sure the belt is in good working order. If everything seems fine, you'll need to check to verify if the motor is receiving electricity. If the motor has power, it will need to be replaced.
