The cluster dials/indicators on 2001 A4 1.8TQ turn on and off in 20-second cycles. The instrument cluster will not light up when the automobile is turned on or started. The entire cluster lacks a digital display and backlighting.
The gasoline and RPM indicators are both accurate. Then, in a 20-second cycle, the ESP and ABS indications will illuminate, then turn off 10 seconds later, and the fuel and RPM gauges will show zero. 4 seconds later, the functional dials will return to normal operation, and the cycle will repeat itself 6 seconds later (a total of 20 seconds from the start).
