Normally full electronic transmissions don't have a manual shift lever connected to the transmission. The vehicle will fail to safely back to the park. You can try and see if your ideal works

I have already relocated my tcm to the brake lines, but it is still downshifting gears randomly sometimes which is why I want to send it in for service. I still have the same questions about whether I can put the car in neutral and disconnect the battery before pulling it off? Since I assume I won't be able to change gears once it is pulled off.

2007 mazda 3 I am getting ready to pull off the TCM and get it sent over to you guys but I had a few questions: 1) What gear should my vehicle be in when I remove the tcm? 2) Do I need to disconnect the negative on my battery before pulling it off? 3) Does my e-brake need to be on or off? I was thinking of putting the car in Neutral before removing the TCM just in case I need to move/roll it for any reason. Would this be okay to do? Or does it need to be in a specific gear?
RE: 2011 Mazda 3 TCM Faulty | 0 Relevance | 1 year ago | Serge - UpFix Team | TCM Transmission Control Module
It sounds like it could be an issue with the TCM, however, we cannot diagnose your part based on this message. If you wish to send it to us, we can test it and see if it actually needs repair. If the unit tests good then you will only pay a $39.99 bench test fee along with any applicable shipping charges. Thank you!

2011 mazda 3 I was wondering if you help with this problem. I purchased TCM on ebay and suspecting it is faulty. The part number: LF8M 18 9E1G is exact as my old one. After about 20min of driving starts to malfunction on and off (with AT light on and off, traction, and gear selector) and it goes back to normal for a while. Could this be faulty TCM? RE: 2008 Mazda 3 TCM bad? | 0 Relevance | 1 year ago | Serge - UpFix Team | TCM Transmission Control Module
This is a commonly known issue with this TCM. If you have a scan tool that can communicate and read codes from the TCM pull those codes and compare it with the codes we state we can fix on the service repair page. Checking the transmission fluid and filter for any dirty contaminants is an important step as well. I'll include a link to the service repair page below:

2008 mazda 3 The TCM was working fine, until about a week ago. I get a hard shift from gears going into 4th and 5th. Reverse is a really hard shift. No check engine light, but the AT light is back.
