A technical query pertaining to TCM on a 2010 Mazda 3.
Car was taken in for repair. needed a TCM in the first place. Instead of replacing the TCM, the shop replaced the transmission. They've returned and asked for an extra $1600 to replace the TCM.
Will extra calibration be required if I use your service and send the old one in if I'm installing it on a new transmission? The TCM is the only component left for the new transmission to function.
If you send in your original then we will program the latest firmware and repair your TCM. I recommend the exchange program that way if our part doesn't work then we can repair yours. If our part works then you can send in your original as a core. If that doesn't work for you then we can do a regular repair on your original.
