I have a 2008 Mazda 5 and it don't have a hard shift but it does down shift and throws an AT code when it does and says loss of communication to the computer. Do you think it could be the module causing it to do this or should I look for a broke wire. It seems to only do this when the car heats up and has been driving for about 30 minutes. And it doesn't do it all the time but once it starts it does it often. I came across you on a YouTube video.please get back with me. I'd love to get my wife's car fixed. Thank you.

It does sound like a TCM issue or a Valve Body issue. Get the codes checked and find out what they are. Depending on the code it can generally tell you where to start. Tell me what you find out.
