How to remove control board from this Kenmore built in oven, so you can send it in to UpFix
My model is oven model is 911 4118991 but it will be similar to GE and other Kenmore models
Part number WB27T10056
Be sure to take a few pictures of your wires and where they connect, so you can reassemble the board once you receive it back.
Get your tools together. You are going to need a 1/4 socket, screwdriver, maybe some needle nose pliers
Before working on your oven, you will want to disconnect the power at the circuit breaker
In order to get to the control board, you need to remove the panel.
My lower oven wasn’t reaching the set temp, so we diagnosed the control board was faulty.
To begin the disassembly process, the first thing you need to do is open the door
And locate the screws on the bottom side of the panel
This is a good time to get an extra set of hands. Once you pull this panel out, it will still be attached by the wires and you don’t want the panel supported only by the wires.
Now, we are going to remove the wire connectors and wiring harnesses
Remove the wire connector by grabbing the top of the connector itself and giving it a little wiggle
Be sure to pull from the wire header itself and not the wires
Remove the ribbon cable by pushing in on the two black tabs then pull gently on the ribbon cable
Now you can remove the control board from the panel
There are four screws, two screws on each side
After removing the control board panel, it should be fully accessible to ship for repair
