I'm a technician working on a Dacor oven with ERC/CLOCK BRD 82759 & RELAY BRD 82995 (Robertshaw boards). I'm using the Dacor tech Manual. The oven will not come on/heat. There are no error codes. The ERC clock display works and there is 24VAC (in) at test pts. 14 & 15 (main harness at the ERC Brd. In ERC test mode all 9 tests pass with proper display and all oven components function properly with the relays snaping closed when a . When in operation the display / clock function properly. When ANY program button is pressed (i.e. BAKE, BROIL, etc.) the relays chatter momentarily, the display shows Bake, Pre ht., and ON. Pressing the temp. button displays the set-point temp. In approximately 20-30 seconds the oven turns off. Using the tech. manual(pg.17) OUTPUT VOLTAGE CK. PTS. ON ERC/CLOCK CONTROL, the 24 vdc output for all the test points listed is erratic and the appropriate dc relay chatters when a function button is pressed but the relay does not stay engaged when the button is released. This indicates low voltage or ac voltage being sent to the relays and my guess is that the dc rectifier bridge failed. The Manual does not indicate if the 24 vdc bridge is on the relay brd. with the transformer or is part of the ERC/CLOCK BRD. What I don't understand is why do the relays function properly (with element load) when the ERC Quick Test is run and not when in normal operation. The ERC Quick Test indicates that the relay board is functioning. It looks perfect too with no burnt/oxidized or decolorization. What board should I send you? This may be a common failure and you will know what board is causing the problem. Attached are a pic. of the display in bake mode, ERC Quick Test w/test notes, and ERC VOLTAGE CK. PTS. w/notes. If you have any questions or want me to run a specific test let me know and I'll do it.
Thanks for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.
We can difinately take a look at this for you. The chattering relays are most likely from carbon build up inside the relay. Or it could be caused by a voltage drop on its way to energize the relay. If you could send in both boards, then we can test them together. Below is the address to send it to if you'd like.
