My unit still has trouble issues and/or codes:
- If the vehicle’s battery was not disconnected prior to the removal of the unit, it may inadvertently blow a fuse, a relay near the fuse box, or a fuse in one of the multiple fuse boxes in the vehicle.
- Often times there are communication issues present if the unit is installed back in the vehicle. One of the fastest and easiest ways to clear any soft codes in the vehicle is to do a simple battery reset:
- Disconnect the battery cables
- Clamp the cables together with the terminals touching (off the battery!)
- Leave the cables maintained in this position for 30min. and then re-install
*This should clear any soft codes and communication issues with the vehicle’s PCI bus.*
Hello!
I just got my repaired PCM back from UpFix for my 2013 Audi S4.
I disconnected the negative terminal on the battery upon install and then reconnected after install. I turned the car on and the power steering fault was gone.
I took the car for a spin and about 3 minutes in the error code “Dynamic steering fault, you can still drive” popped up on the dash. I brought it back home and am wondering what happened. I disconnected the negative terminal on the battery and turned the headlights on in the meantime of writing this post to drain all power, but what could the problem be?
Thanks,
Logan.
Thank you for reaching out. It's best to check for the specific fault codes on the PSM. I'm assuming that's what you're referring to not the PCM. Let us know what those codes are. If still having issues it's possible that a re-calibration of the module in-vehicle will help clear the codes. This can be done with any bi-directional scan tool capable of communicating with the PSM or Ross-Tech VCDS. If still having issues we can take another look under warranty once the codes are provided.
