When i turn on my dryer, it will begin to heat up for a moment before shutting off. I'm not sure if the problem is with the heating coil or the main control board.

Check the unit's vent to see whether it's working properly. If this is the case, and the cycling thermostat continues to reset, the unit's control must be repaired. Here is the service link https://www.upfix.com/product-category/appliances/dryer/
