I went out for lunch today and my 2002 BMW X5's temperature control wouldn't turn on. The climate control display was very dark when I switched on the car, and none of the buttons worked. I'm not sure whether there was any air flowing out of the vents. The AC button was glowing, as was "auto," which is how I had it set. But the buttons wouldn't function, so I switched off and restarted the car, and the unit was dead.
It was also a beautiful day, 90 degrees and humid.
