I looked in the TCM listing for a Mazda 5 and oldest was 2007 ....

I'm wondering if a 2004 is not possible ....

Symptom was only first 3 gears, then hard shift ...

After sitting for 6 months seemed better but back to hard shift and only 3 gears after less than a week ...

Fluid changed and was told fluids that came out looked fine ...
