My 2004 Audi A4 only experienced Transmission Control Module (TCM) problems. While the gearshift was still in standard "D" drive mode, it automatically transitioned to Tiptronic mode. The numbers appeared on the dash, and the car rammed back as I was maxing out whatever gear I was in since it had unexpectedly moved into tiptronic.
It is frightening, unpredictable, and appears to occur seldom.
The only way to return to regular automatic mode is to shift into tiptronic mode and then back into automatic drive.
When the dealership's maintenance staff takes the automobile for a "road test," They said I need new ECU
