Samsung fridge Inverter control board issue

The have the above fridge at home and I am suspecting an Inverter control board issue. I did some trouble shooting and after reset/power off it worked for 2 days and stopped. I did the same thing and I now I see the LED blinking once on the board DA41-00614F. This is considered a code for Start up failure per Samsung manual

Is this a board that you can repair? Nothing seems outwardly burnt. Should I try this or look for a compressor? Can you please advise?

Thanks

Thank you for reaching out. You mentioned some troubleshooting what did you check? Is the unit still keeping cool when it did work?. Before taking the time to have the board sent to us, I recommend checking the connectors on the inverter and compressor to make sure that there are good connections. If the connections are good and no loose or damaged connections then the inverter would normally be the issue. In the meantime, I'll reach out to the tech to make sure we can repair the inverter board, we should have an answer for you by tomorrow.

I was able to get a response from the tech. He mentioned that the issue is programming on the Samsung end. Unfortunately, we can't service this particular board, the manufacturers don't provide the software to program. You may want to consider purchasing a replacement.

it could be many things. However, a good cleaning of any component as maintenance is always good. It is probably a combination of the reset and the cleaning. The cleaning allows the unit to, let's say breathe and not have to overwork itself, causing components to overheat and eventually fail. Cleaning the connectors with water and vinegar helps to ensure you have a solid connection. You could replace the compressor as a last-ditch effort and see if that is the issue. If that doesn't work then you absolutely know that it's the inverter board and not the control board. keep us updated.

So I pulled out the board and inspected it for any burn marks, swollen capacitors etc, there was none. I put it back on and plugged in all the connectors. I had also pulled off the back panel covering the compressor area and condenser coils. There was lot of dust / lint like material .. Vacuumed all of that and cleaned it up good.

I know that Ice maker inside the freezer compartment is broken.. (ie wires are severed).. So when I plugged in the fridge again. It flashed the 88 A8 error message. (per samsung manual this is expected due to the icemaker not being operational). I did a reset (hold freezer and lighting buttons together for 10 seconds), and there was nothing happening right away.

I could see the 1 flash-pause-1 flash-pause pattern on the LED on the invertor board. This seems to mean "start up issue " per the samsung manual and steps are replace inverter board ... if it does not work replace compressor.

Anyway after about 1 hr I came downstairs and the fridge was working and cooling. It has been running good for the last few 2 days.

I am at a loss as to what happened. Is it the cleaning of the condenser coils or is the unplug replug of all the connectors on the invertor board... I do not know..

Do you feel it is a temporary reprieve or its fixed for good? The other issue is DA41-00614F seems to be discontinued by the manufacturer. So if it acts up again, I might be screwed unless you can help me with your service.

Thank you for your time and I am eager to hear your thoughts?
