The freezer/refrigerator then flashes a 0 on the left door display. The inside lighting is also poor. The general belief is that the main control board at the back is the issue. I'm guessing it's not the board that's causing the problem? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and thank you!

You might check for power to the dispenser at the main board and see if the electricity to the dispenser is pulsating, as well as whether the power to the compressor is there. A defective main control board will be the problem if there is any fluctuation.
