I've ordered the oven control board repair in a different company. They informed me that their technicians completed the "standard" repair which include replacement of all relays, all capacitors, and other faulty components (they didn't specify). They also reflowes the solder on the board. It still doesn't work. They found live and dead roaches inside the board, and it appears (their word) that roaches damaged some traces on the board over the time. Their conclusion is that the board in not repairable. I have some knowledge in this field and to me any repair without the proper preliminary diagnostics (finding the broken microchip(s) using the tester, etc.) doesn't look as a proper approach. They charged me $200+shipment and it's still broken. Do you believe that it could be reasonable at these circumstances to perform an independent examination of their work in your company? If yes, how much would be the cost? Thank you.
Yes, If you looking for a second opinion we can most certainly run a diagnostic on your unit for a fee of $40.00 Instead of charging $89.99 for the full repair. We will have a highly-skilled engineer that will be looking at their board, We have seen where the combined feces of animals and corrosion will cause board damage. If the capacitors leaked the electrolytic acid, this can cause board damage. Here is the service link https://www.upfix.com/product/316462868-ge-range-stove-oven-control-board-repair/
