Vw beetle 2013 milage correction

Hello, I bought a engine for my 2013 beetle and it came with its own cluster with a correct milage reading for the engine. I swapped it and it does not let me start the car for a long period of time. When i turn it on it immediately turns off, and a lot of dash lights started flashing after i did this swap. I put back the one that was originally installed and it turns on and stays on without problems. Should the cluster be programmed with vin for it to turn on? Should i send in the new cluster with the old cluster?

Thank you for contacting us.. iam happy to assist you today.. All VW/Audi vehicles are VIN encoded for most parts. Any local mechanic with VCDS software or dealer can pair the cluster to the car via OBDII. We primarily do repairs and mileage programming on instrument clusters not VIN encoding.

If you want do mileage correction we can gladly help with that.  Here's service link  https://www.upfix.com/product-category/repair-return/mileage-correction/
