My failed head unit shall arrive at UpFix Tuesday 9/28. I wonder what kind of repairs will you perform. Are you taking it apart and examine every part that may need replacement except for the LCD display?
We will be inspecting and diagnosing the power components that normally fail on this unit. Our pretest will show if the touch screen will need to be replaced or the digitizer.
The digitizer was bad and removed. I attached a note on the LCD. When it was on, all functions were normal, but no response on the failed digitizer. I had replaced an aftermarket but the screen colors were like the attached photos. Therefore the defective digitizer from Amazon was returned
What do you mean by no response?. The digitizer is what shows the actual image. The touch screen and the digitizer works as one. If you can not go through the menus but still see the image then it is the touch screen. Are you having power loss? In the pictures, it seems to show what looks like waves of color coming from the top right moving through the left side of the unit. It's possible it is the angle of the picture. We will be able to get a better idea of what's going on once it arrives.
Maybe it's called touchscreen, not digitizer..
We'll test all functions not just the circuit board. It'll include taking a look at the digitizer and glass LCD as well rest assured.
