My 2004 Prius' multifunction display failed. Actually, it only fails occasionally; all of the functions continue to operate; I just can't access them all of the time. Toyota, in particular, would seem to go out of its way to defend its reputation. According to my dealer, Toyota has not publicly acknowledged that this is a manufacturer's issue and wants $4,000 to fix it. I'd heard that restored units go for around $500, but my dealer reduced the price to $2,000. I'm quite disappointed.
