I'm trying to figure out the best approach to see if my pump is blocked.

Remove the back access panel as well as the hose that connects the tub to the pump unit. Then, in the hose, you removed, inspect the in-line filter. At this time, check to see if the pump is blocked. I hope this information is useful.
