The washer's indicators all lit up, but it would not start. When I push and hold the start and cancel buttons for three seconds, the cycle indicators flash and beep three times. I was given the error code 31.

The code E31 stands for Pressure sensor on better models does not communicate with the main control board. Examine the cabling that connects the pressure sensor to the main control panel. Wiring that isn't working, and wiring that is working. Replace the pressure sensor if the wiring is OK. Repair the main control board if this does not solve the problem.
