When i begin a load of laundry, the door locks and the water runs for approximately two seconds before stopping. Over and over, the machine will do nothing but that. Do you suppose the main control board is the problem if the door lock/switch isn't the issue?

That either outlet or the main board of the device is faulty. To figure out where the problem is, you'll have to look at each of them. We can rebuild faulty control board modules, here is the link: https://www.upfix.com/product-category/appliances/washing-machine/
