My washer runs through all of the cycles well, but when it comes to the spin cycle, it just spins slowly and never builds up any rotation speed... I tested the door switch and it appears to be working well. Most door switch problems I've come across include the unit not spinning at all... this one does, but it never gets fast. I'm considering a motor control device. Thank you for your time and consideration.

First, ensure that there aren't any loose connections between the control and the motor. If everything appears to be in order, the most likely problem is with the motor control board. We can rebuild faulty control board modules, here is the link
