My washer shuts the door, makes the noise it would typically make before filling the basin with water, but never does, and then spins for a few minutes with no water. Then turning off and unlocking the door. By my standards, the heavy mode still works and washes clothing quite well. Based on previous troubleshooting posts , I believe the control board is to blame Thank you for your time and consideration.

It's very likely that the primary control board is malfunctioning. We can rebuild faulty control board modules, here is the link: https://www.upfix.com/product-category/appliances/washing-machine/
