According to my sources, the speed control board in my unit is broken. Is it feasible to perform a test on the speed control board in order to be certain?

You may check for electricity to the speed control board by looking at connector J1 on the board; there should be 120 volts. You may check the resistance of the windings at the motor terminals. The motor's windings should be between 3 and 6 ohms. If the motor is out of range, it is defective. If the motor appears to be in good working order and the speed control is receiving power, but the motor is not spinning, the speed control board should be repaired.
