Our GE dryer would not turn off. The display may be entirely black at times, but the dryer continues to run. It can only be stopped by opening the dryer door or unplugging.

The motor relay installed on the control board appears to be jammed closed. To determine whether the relay will release, try cycling power to the device if it remains locked closed, you will need to fix the relay on the board. Here is more info
