an issue with a wiring harness or dash cluster. The dome lights will randomly turn on or off depending on how I press on the wiring harness-cluster connection.
I've posted about this and included pictures here: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/dome-lights-bed-lights-randomly-turn-help-41514/index3/#post7160546
The thing I don't know is if it's the harness itself, or if it's the part that the harness plugs into, or if it's something on the circuit board. Sierra thought it would be best for me to connect with you about this first before mailing my dash cluster in. Thanks!!
This particular cluster may have a battery saver relay inside that affects other electrical functions in the car. We address all those issues when it comes in for a rebuild, however, if we repair it and there's still an issue, chances are, there could be a wiring issue, faulty switch, or module that either need replacing or to be reset with a hard reset. Before sending it to us, I'd suggest you try a hard battery reset. I've attached the guide. If you'd like the peace of mind, we can always take another look under warranty, this may be ideal since these clusters suffer from circuit issues (gauges, backlights, intermittent power issues, etc..) It's just that I want you to be fully aware in case you send it to us for a rework and still have the same issue. Hope that helps. If you have any other questions let us know.
It looks like it didn't go through. Simply tie both the negative and positive battery terminals together with the cluster installed and the battery removed. Make sure they are touching for at least 30min. Double-check pins wiring and connectors, ensure they are clean and fully seated. Let us know the results.
You said you attached a guide, but I'm not seeing anything. Is there a link to something online? Or did you mean an attachment like a .pdf or something?
