97 Toyota Corolla I've been experiencing some difficulties with the instrument cluster, but I'm not sure whether they're any greater than that. I'll be driving when the speedometer drops to zero and then returns to normal. At times, it will drop to zero and stay there for a long, and the O/D off light will flicker on and off. When this happens, even if the automobile is moving at a constant pace, the engine may rev.

I've taken it to the dealer three times now and they haven't found anything wrong...: confused: They claimed to have thoroughly examined the speed sensor.
Any suggestions? I'm at a loss on what to do.

Now and then, the automobile will be unable to accelerate (often happens when making a turn from a stop). The speedometer remains at zero, and the engine revs as though the vehicle is in neutral. When you take your foot off the throttle, it will continue to rev until it stops producing the noise and may then accelerate. Also, I'm not sure if it's my imagination, but when this happens, I'll be driving and if I ease off on the throttle to coast to a stop, the car will lurch a few times instead of coming to a smooth halt.
