I have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler that has the instrument cluster 5172631AD. The Jeep Dealership told me I would need a new instrument cluster to fix an issue I am having with my air conditioning. They say the issue is the cluster isn't putting out the correct voltage for the evaporator temp sensor, thus giving low voltage out of range error code B1031. Is this something you could repair on my instrument cluster? All other functions, mileage etc are working on this cluster.
Sounds like a wiring issue going to and from a particular module or unit in the AC system, not the cluster. We haven't heard of an issue like this with this particular instrument cluster. If you exhaust all possible scenarios and a replacement cluster works, keep in mind, that we can always program the mileage on the replacement.
A cluster is a passive device. It only receives signals from other modules of the vehicle. I don’t see how a cluster could any way affect the air conditioning. I’ve been repairing gm clusters for 12 years . They all pretty much work the same from one manufacturer to another. Sounds like your getting a load of crap from the dealer.
