I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe. A few years ago i changed out the stepper motors and i bought the newer ones ones GM recommended that replaced the the factory ones that had issues. I originally only had 1 or 2 that were sticking or bouncing. I replaced all of them.
Last year the lights started going dim and a couple burned out. I pulled the cluster out after my battery kept going dead and replaced the bulbs with blue ice LED's and also soldered a couple capacitors that were related to the dim lights / battery drain.
Now i had just put in a new battery and the truck has been sitting maybe 2-3 weeks. Went to go start it and battery is dead so there is still a drain, maybe i missed something. the other issue is the mileage or PRDL one of them is Dim so i am guessing there is still work to be done.
Since i dont need ALL the LED's replaced nor do i need stepper motors, i thought i would find someone who might take a look at the battery drain issue and the Mileage / PRDL an
Hi Mitch, We can do a full instrument cluster rebuild however we don't do partial or specific repairs. We fix the entire instrument cluster even if it was already previously tampered with or serviced before. The price of that rebuild is $119 and if there are any circuit board issues that are causing the PRNDL display to go dim and battery draw, those issues will be fixed.
