My 2002 BMW 528 has just started acting strangely. One of the following will happen at random in an instrument cluster:
(Power outage followed by a restart?)
Freeze all gauges and the displays.
Except for the clock by radio, everything else is good. It displays the time when cluster froze or "--:--" if switched on when cluster is frozen.
When the engine was running or the cluster was frozen, it would stay in that state. Battery slowly drains if not unplugged.
What may have caused this mistake?
