2001 Audi A4 with a broken speedometer. I removed the instrument cluster, the lid, and reset the needle to zero after it had become stuck. Nonetheless, it returned to zero. I replaced the cluster, started the car, selected drive, and it moved! I was still accelerating, and the speedometer was barely rising around 4 mph every second or so. Just abrupt rises. I was parked at a stop sign, and it kept jumping up. So I'm once again perplexed. Or the little motor hidden below the speedometer. The last choice appears to be the most appropriate. We're still seeking for suggestions!
