I own a 2010 BMW 550i. I tried the following procedure to reset the ECU:
1. Turn the key to the right before the car starts. 2. Press the throttle pedal for 5 seconds.
3. Return the key to the off position.
4. Depress the gas pedal
5 minutes of waiting
6 remove the key
My ECU seemed to have been reset because I immediately heard some noises from the car. When I try to start the automobile now, the engine does not even turn and instead makes a repetitive clicking sound. The battery is OK because I had been starting and driving the car normally until I did this (!). I require assistance with my failed ecu.
Please assist!
