I have a 2003 Civic EX with a faulty ECU.
To cut a long tale short, I bought a used one online rather than paying Honda $900 for one.
To reset the immobilizer in the ECU, I was informed I needed to get it reprogrammed.
I'm not familiar with this operation, therefore I have a query. Is it necessary for the Honda Dealership to perform this, or are there other businesses that can update my ECU?
Do I need to bring the car to wherever I get the ECU reprogrammed, or can I just bring the old ECU, the just acquired ECU, and the key?
Sorry if that was a stupid question, but I know nothing about this.
