On my 2002 Highlander, I need to repaire the ECU/ECM unit. My technician has given me a quote of $1100.00 for the job.
According to internet sources, the typical price of a secondhand ECU/ECM is roughly $200.00.
Is this a straightforward installation, or is there more to it? That is, programming? I also noted that certain information on the ECU/ECM was programmed to your car keys. Is this the situation with the Highlander 2002? I am aware of the installation and placement requirements. I'm just curious whether I'm missing something significant. Can you also fix my ECU?
