Dishwasher begins with a 2H error indication

Any cycle in our dishwasher begins with a 2H error indication, then drops to 99 and counts backwards from there. It continues to run indefinitely until I press the cancel/drain combination. [All filters are clean, and it drains nicely] If I don't notice it immediately away and it runs for a long time, I open the door to find highly sudsy water at the bottom, which I guess is the rinse agent being washed out and recycled over and over again, as this happens even when the dishwasher is empty and no detergent is used. The water does not get any hotter than our already very hot tap water.

A heater fault is indicated by the error code 2H. You'll want to ensure sure the heater and thermostat are working properly, as well as that the control board is supplying electricity to the heater. You should also inspect the wiring harness that runs from underneath the unit to the door at the bend. There could also be a broken cable in that location causing the problem.
We can rebuild your control board module, here is the link  https://www.upfix.com/product-category/appliances/dishwasher/
