Something broke the other day, and now when I open the latch on my dishwasher, the door falls open without constraint. It's supposed to fall gently, with a spring or something to slow it down.
I haven't taken the unit out from under the counter to have a closer look yet, but I've looked at the component diagrams on Bosch.com and I don't see the likely issue there. Can somebody tell me what I should be searching for?

Each side of the machine has a spring and a rope. To get to it, you'll have to take it out from beneath the counter. It's most likely the chord that's broken, but it might also be the spring. I hope this information is useful.
