I'm attempting to assist a buddy in replacing his automated air conditioning control unit (AACCU) in his 2001 BMW X5 3.0 with VIN LM71965.
The broken device has the component number 64116902560 written on it. This component is not included in the REALOEM database. When I went to the ECSTuning website, I was given the superseded part number 64116915810. This number was replaced once again by component number 64116927900.
My friend is attempting to go the secondhand way, and the more alternatives available, the better. Will an AACCU from an E36/E38/39 fit? Did BMW actually employ distinct temperature control units for the E36, E38, and E53, as shown by the REALOEM part numbers?
