Important: Use this guide if you reinstalled your repaired Folding Top Control Module and the problem is still happening. Please do not open/disassemble the module. Vehicle-side checks only.
- Step 1 — Confirm top “enable” conditions
- Battery voltage is healthy (low voltage can stop top operation)
- Vehicle in PARK, parking brake applied
- Trunk partition/divider is in the correct position (if equipped)
- Windows/latches operate normally (some systems require these inputs)
- Step 2 — Scan for codes and verify communication
- Scan all modules and record B-codes + U-codes
- If you have U0100/U0101 (no communication), go to Step 3
- If you have B1014/B1015/B1016 (top function faults), go to Step 4
- Step 3 — If “No Communication” (U0100/U0101)
- Check related fuses (top/module/BCM) and any top-related relays
- Verify power + ground at the module connector (load-test grounds if possible)
- Inspect connectors for corrosion, pushed pins, loose fit, or water intrusion
- Quick CAN sanity check (key off): network resistance should be ~60Ω at the DLC if the network is healthy
- Step 4 — If module communicates but top is inop (B1014/B1015/B1016)
- Check top pump power/ground and pump connector condition
- Check top/latch/decklid/tonneau position switches and connectors (a bad input can block operation)
- Check for binding/mechanical obstruction and verify hydraulic fluid level/condition (if applicable)
- Step 5 — Final verification
- Clear codes, cycle key, and retry top operation
- If the same code returns immediately, focus on the related circuit/switch/hydraulic component
