08 Jeep Wrangler brake module issue

Dan V

Jeep Wrangler 2008 not beginning. When I turn the key, there appears to be plenty of power. nothing else, though.
I also experimented with the gearshift technique of shifting into D and then returning to P. Nothing.
I made a call to a mobile mechanic I occasionally employ. He checked the out and discovered an anti-lock brake module issue. He claims that the anti-lock brake module has to be replaced and that this is why it won't start 90% of the time.
Can anyone vouch that the anti-lock braking module is not the cause of the vehicle's inability to start? I'll consider any other recommendations, but I don't necessarily want to spend $500 or more on a part if it isn't the problem.
